One of the objectives of the project- Integrating Gender and Nutrition within Agricultural Extension Services (INGENAES) is to develop a Robust Community of Practice (COP) around Gender and Nutrition. The Community of Practice (CoP) serves as a learning and exchange platform for a network of organizations at the forefront of strengthening nutrition and gender in Uganda. It is hoped that peer-to-peer learning and exchange between organizations will facilitate organizational change amongst members around gender and nutrition issues in their extension programs. The first meeting was held on 1st September 2016 at Hotel Africana and issues raised were proposed to be discussed in the second meeting before the end of the year-2016.
The 2nd CoP meeting has been scheduled for 30th November 2016 at Grand Global Hotel, Kampala-Uganda.
The goal of this meeting will be to sustain a Community of Practice of actors around gender and nutrition within extension services in Uganda. The meeting objectives will be:
- To build the capacity of the members in the identification of Gender and Nutrition issues extension and along the value chain
- To review the issues that were raised during the 1st CoP meeting and come up with a concrete strategy for addressing them
